Nightly concerts will be held in the Foro Fil, in the explanade of the Expo Guadalajara, each evening during the International Book Fair (FIL). The shows, which begin around 9 p.m. and are free of charge, will all have an Argentinean flavor and feature traditional and contemporary music.
Saturday, November 29: Argentine band Escalandrum pay tribute to famed Argentinian composer and bandoneon player Astor Piazzolla. Mexican singer Julieta Venegas is an invited guest.
Sunday, November 30: Argentine guitarists Juan Falú and Delfor Sombra will pay tribute to the great Chavela Vargas – the iconic Latin American singer who passed away in 2012.
Monday, December 1: Argentinean rock singer Pedro Aznar pays tribute to Luis Alberto Spinetta, who along with his band, Almendra, was one of the first protagonists of the Spanish rock scene.
Tuesday, December 2: Argentinean jazz pianist Adrián Iaies in concert.
Wednesday, December 3: The Rodolfo Mederos Trío pays tribute to Argentine poet Juan Gelman. Óscar Chávez is the guest artist.
Thursday, December 4: Argentine composer and accordion player “Chango” Spasiuk, and Argentine singer-songwriter Nahuel, will pay tribute to the icon of Argentine popular music and political resistance, Mercedes Sosa.
Friday, December 5: Renowned Argentine reggae musician Mariano Javier Castro, also known as Dread Mar-I, in concert.
Saturday, December 6: A night dedicated to rock with a show by Los Enanitos Verdes, one of the most famous bands in Argentina.
Sunday, December 7: Ariel Ardit, arguably the most popular tango figure of today, pays tribute to composer, bandoneon player Aníbal Troilo (1914-1975). Francisco Torné, Troilo’s grandson, is the guest artist.
