Canadian photographic exhibit: 'On the Trail of the Monarch Butterfly'

A Canadian photographic exhibit, “On the Trail of the Monarch Butterfly,” will be on display at the Andares Mall in Zapopan until Sunday, September 21.

Stunning microphotographic images and aerial photographs depict the Monarch’s amazing journey from Montreal to the mountains of central Mexico.

Mexican filmmaker and pilot Francisco “Vico” Gutiérrez followed the butterfly migration in his ultralight, decorated with the motif of the monarch butterfly and aptly named Papalotzin (the Aztec word for “small butterfly”). In total, he covered more than 6,000 kilometers in 90 hours of flight over 72 days.

The traveling exhibit is produced by the Canada Aviation and Space Museum in collaboration with the Canadian embassy in Mexico.
