Lakeside will be jumping with outdoor action this weekend with special events going on at three shoreline hot spots.
Saturday, April 5, 9 to 11 a.m. Local kayaking buffs and Maria Isabel Restaurant co-host a beginners boating blast for local children, by the pier in front of the old Posada Ajijic.
Saturday, April 5, noon to Sunday, April 6, 3 a.m. Chapala Water Festival, a combo music fest-pool party booked at Jocotepec’s Malecón, will draw hoards of young folks to boogie with guest bands and DJs. Admission: 350 pesos for gals, 450 pesos for guys, including open bar.
Sunday, April 6, 11 a.m. to sunset. Festival de Lodo, a messy day of mud bogging for off-road vehicles, takes place on the beach about a half kilometer northeast of Chapala’s former railway station. Admission: 70 pesos.
